About Beholding Jesus
Pondering the Word Made Flesh in the Gospels
This is a community blog written by a group of first year Bible School students in Kansas City. Each entry or post is a result of several hours a week spent meditating on specifically assigned passages from the Gospels… passages peering into the Incarnation, such as the events surrounding the birth of Christ in Luke 1 and 2, or passages that put us before Compassion Himself as He stretches out His hand to heal those considered as outcasts or burdens to the rest of society.
These students have set themselves on a pilgrimage to know God’s heart, His ways, His intents and all that He would invite them into of Himself, as they peer into the face of Christ, the glory of God revealed. (2 Corinthians 3-4) And in the pages and posts of this blog, they are opening a window into their journey and experience as they sit at the Lord’s feet and hear His words. May you enjoy these glimpses and may your hearts be stirred and brought near to a God that came so near and revealed so much in the person of Christ.
And we pray that glorious prayer of old (Ephesians 1:17-19) over each of these students as they gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and for you, as you read these meditations… that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give to you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. That the eyes of your hearts would be enlightened, that sweet illumination would flood your hearts and minds with the wonder and beauty found in Jesus Christ, and that you would know the great hope to which He has called us, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great power for us who believe.
